Wine Review: An easy-drinking, pale straw-colored Pinot Gris from the Pfalz region of Germany. The bouquet includes apple skin, nectarine, lime, gardenias, pastry crème, and wet stone aromas. It is dry, fresh, and medium bodied, with a smooth supple mouthfeel. It also has good balance and bright but moderated acidity on the palate. There are flavors of ripe nectarine, lime, MacIntosh apple and stony minerality. The finish is thirst quenching and long. Serve lightly chilled along with swordfish kabobs. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: A dry, full-bodied white wine with depth, structure, and grapey fruitiness. Villa Wolf Pinot Gris is made in a full-bodied, dry style with fresh, unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. The wine is made in stainless steel to preserve freshness and enhance the vibrant fruit. The 2023 vintage has an enticing citrus and pear aroma, complemented by a touch of dusty minerality. The wine is creamy and smooth, featuring nutty notes, generous spiced pear, white peach, and a well-balanced, mouthwatering acidity. It is delicious on its own and fantastic with food.
