Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Grenache based blend from Villa Creek opens with a pleasant mild blueberry and maraschino cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild crushed stone and gentle red plum blend with hints of light oak, maraschino cherry, cinnamon and other baking spices. The finish is dry and its refined tannins show nice length. This wine is easy to drink and will be a crowd pleaser. It is also very food friendly and versatile. I would pair it with Theresa’s homemade meatloaf. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Brambly red and blue fruits from the nose, think cru Beaujolais but darker. The palate is fruit forward with good spice and firms up with darker fruits and fine-grained tannins.
