Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored red blend from South Africa is Excellent. It opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a delicious black cherry and boysenberry blend with hints of oak and blueberry. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins are very very extended. This impressive wine should be paired with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2013 is a vintage of great substance. The wine exhibits an incredible deep red-black color. Captivating mineral notes are present with blackcurrant preserve, liquorice, espresso roast and wet pebbles distinguishing the complex aromas and bouquet. On the palate, it shows great focus, a very well balanced tannin structure and beautiful density, contributing to an expected and extended cellaring potential for this wine.
