Wine Review: This entry level Malbec from Argentine reminds me of a good Beaujolais Villages wine. It opens with a fragrant cedar and black currant like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a pleasant plum with hints of black pepper and a touch of black currant. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger slightly. This wine would pair well with a Bertucci's Sporkie pizza. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The classic Malbec aromas of ripe plum and violets are evident in the nose, with hints of vanilla. The beauty of the Malbec in Argentina is its ability to combine a rich, weighty mouth feel with a soft silkiness normally associated with lighter wines. Elsa Malbec takes the promise of the nose through to the palate, with pleasing fruit that mimics the aroma. The soft, supple palate leads to a lingering finish. Elsa Malbec is the perfect accompaniment to a wide range of foods, such as salmon or other flavorful fish, pork and beef.
