Wine Review: This deep purple colored Zinfandel from VSG opens with a fragrant ripe blackberry, pencil lead and moist pipe tobacco bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is ripe blackberry and stony mineral blend along with hints red plum, oolong tea and nutmeg. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavors drift away nicely. I would enjoy this Zin on its own. With food I would pair it with garlic-thyme rubbed beef tenderloin steaks. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 VGS Zinfandel is a symphony of aromas and flavors filling your nose and mouth with pure pleasure. Dark red and black berries abound accented by fields of wildflowers, spices as if you were in a Moroccan spice market-this wine is really beautiful. In the mouth, it takes over completely, coating every taste bud with its weight and presence. On the finish, its stays with you forever.
