Wine Review: This cloudy deep purple colored Syrah opens with a blueberry and cedar bouquet with hints of vanilla and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, rich, and balanced. The flavor profile is dark chocolate, espresso and black cherry blend with notes oak and anise. We also detected hints of black currant and minerality. The finish is dry and its integrated moderate dusty tannins fade away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with Roy’s rib roast, a rack of lamb or just enjoy it on its own with Cuban cigar. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromatically, this wine explodes from the glass. Earthy and spice driven aromas of cloves, allspice and cardamom rise from the glass, with mature fruit aromas of black figs, violets, sage and olive tapenade. The distinct array of aromas makes for such a complex and layered wine. On the palate, it is loaded with dark fruit dominated by blackberries and Amarena wild cherries with mocha, vanilla, and black pepper. This is a very multi-dimensional and deep wine. The attack in the mouth is rich, full, and dense…you feel the dark fruit intensity and the wine’s texture. The finish is really compelling as there is a very present note of candied violets that comes to "lighten" the whole bouquet.
