Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Chardonnay opens with a mild lemon, apple and light oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak influenced almond and green apple blend and hints of lemon and light butter towards the end. The finish is dry and it is nicely prolonged. I would pair this Chard with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The vibrant nose starts by a very fresh, lively and pure perfume of lemons and grapefruit, then it develops towards apricots, almond paste, brioche and a very light sweet honey. The oak is present but very subdued and not apparent on the initial bouquet, despite the barrel fermentation. In the mouth the fruit really shines. Mandarins, lychee and melon are all present, yet the wine remains very focused due to its core acidity that is going to make this wine long lived. A complex array of candied ginger, star anise and cardamom appear next along with plenty of zesty citrus oils. The finish is very long, elegant, and complex and shows a great energy. This wine will be great with Asian food, seafood and shellfish!
