Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from VGS opens with a black plum and mulberry bouquet with hints of cherry-cola and barnyard. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced, smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty cherry-vanilla with hints of boysenberry, semi-sweet chocolate and oak. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins linger nicely. This Zin is food friendly and the Panel suggested pairing it with duck confit or shepherd’s pie. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: It has an attractive and rich nose of fully ripe raspberries, blackberries, a little bit of plum and fig which evolves into complex flavors of spices like sage, vanilla, black pepper, and nutmeg. In the mouth, the wine shows great weight with mild tannins. The wine has great length on your palate. The French oak is fully integrated and fully contributes to the expression of the flavors and make it the wine feel full and round with a very long finish.
