Wine Review: This clear and medium ruby colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with an inviting mulberry and leather bouquet with hints of mint, blueberry, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth and (fresh). The flavor profile is black raspberry and black pepper blend with notes of cedar and stony minerality. We also detected hints of blueberry, pomegranate, clove, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, its well-managed tannins fade away nicely. We could certainly drink this Zin on its own. With food we would pair it with a charcuterie platter.
