Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Petit Verdot from V. Sattui opens with a black cherry and violet bouquet with hints of wet clay and boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and wild blueberry blend with notes of stone dust and black tea. We also detected hints of Baker’s chocolate and marionberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its polished medium tannins linger and last for a while. We would pair this Petit Verdot with pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
