Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui is a Zinny Zin. It opens with a mild cinnamon stick and ripe red raspberry bouquet with hints of violet, clay, and cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, zesty, and fresh. The flavor profile is spiced red plum and cedar blend with notes of vanilla-cola and ripe red raspberry. We also detected some hints of stone dust, tea, and red cherry. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins and flavors are nicely prolonged for a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this Zin for a bit before pairing it with Chinese spare ribs or coq au vin. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Ramazzotti Vineyard Zinfandel is a dark ruby color, reflective of its mélange of sweet red cherry, raspberry, and strawberry aromas which are complimented by hints of cinnamon spice. This is a Zinfandel that truly delivers the highly sought after ripe, full-bodied, jammy style. The lush weight of this wine is artfully balanced by a bright acidity that brings back childhood memories of sweet, sublime cherry pie, rounded out by notes of warm toasted oak character, much like that of a fresh baked pastry crust.
