Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with a brambly black raspberry bouquet with notes of fruitcake and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. This wine completely coats your mouth. It is smooth, bright, and savory. The flavor profiles is a stony minerality and stewed black plum blend with notes of cedar and green tea. I also detected some hints of red raspberry, black pepper, and nutmeg. The finish is dry and its bold and dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. This Zin benefits from a little aeration. So, I would decant this zesty Zin for a bit before serving it with Chinese spareribs. Enjoy - Ken
