Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Malbec from the Napa Valley opens with a blackberry and black cherry-cola bouquet with hints of tobacco and mint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a blackberry and oak blend with notes of stony minerality and pomegranate. I also detected hints of anise, black pepper, and a touch of anise at the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity and a touch of heat stick around for a bit. This Malbec would pair well with Mezzi Paccheri al Ragú (Neapolitan rigatoni with slow cooked lamb, beef, veal, and pork ragú. Enjoy – Ken
