Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with a craisin and stewed plum bouquet with hints of wet stone and espresso. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, zesty, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a cinnamon and spiced plum blend with notes of oak and peach. I also detected hints of tobacco and stony minerality. The finish is very dry, and its flavors, acidity and dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. I would pair this zinny Zin with lamb picadillo tacos. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our Gilsson Vineyard Zinfandel opens beautifully with bright aromas of raspberry and rhubarb, a surprise given its rich dark purple color which undoubtedly foreshadows the depth and complexity that follows through with notes of vanilla and toasted oak. Its lighter style on the palate presents a refreshing tart cranberry flavor, which is elegantly balanced by soft tannins for an easy drinking experience, a perfect wine for any occasion.
