Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley opens with a blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and dense. The flavor profile is a cola and black currant blend with notes of oak and black plum. I also detected some hints of black pepper, loam, and black tea. The finish is dry and moderate tannins stick around for quite some time. This big boy Pinot will appeal to readers who like a bolder style of Pinot. It could benefit from some decanting. I would pair this Pinot with a grilled skirt steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2021 Boonville Ranch Pinot Noir opens with an inviting floral bouquet of rose and ripe cherry with hints of tobacco spice. A powerful wine with a sensual palate of blossoming violets, savory herbs, and intense raspberry flavors that are harmonized by a balanced acidity and soft tannins.
