Wine Review: This inky midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from V. Sattui is Excellent and made a big impression on the Tasting Panel! It opens with very fragrant mulberry and black currant bouquet with hints of black plum and violet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, structured, and dense. The flavor profile is complex blend of concentrated mulberry and rich blackberry with notes of toasted oak, crushed stone dust and dark chocolate. We detected hints of black tea, clove, and black cherry. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins and flavors build up and stick around for a while after the wine is gone. The Tasting Panel would pair this Petite Sirah with a Roy’s rib roast or duck confit. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: There is no doubt that our 2019 Petite Sirah is here to make a statement. It displays an opaque color, characteristic of the fresh blackberry and blueberry aromas that leap out of the glass. A bold wine on the palate with intense, sweet plum notes that are beautifully balanced with sweet oak and followed by firm tannins.
