Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from V. Sattui is Excellent! It opens with a cassis and pencil lead bouquet with a hint of black cherry, violets, and black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, lush and mouth coating. The flavor profile is very tasty black cherry and cassis blend with notes of red licorice, vanilla and blueberry compote. We also picked up some hints of black tea, crushed stone minerality, and boysenberry in the mix. The finish is dry and its big and bold tannins are very nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with cowboy ribeye steak or with smoked beef brisket. Enjoy – KWGTP
