Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a toasted coconut, bay leaf and boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a brambly black raspberry and fruit cake blend with notes of vanilla bean and sarsaparilla. I also detected a hint of molasses. The finish is dry, and its unique flavors linger and last for a while. I would pair this Zin with a five-star pulled pork sandwich recipe. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A stylish, complex Zinfandel from one of the premier growing regions for the grape. Its ripe berry fruit and soft tannins make it a great match with nearly any meal. The 2019 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel showcases the elegant stylistic qualities of this fabulous Zinfandel appellation. In the nose, aromas of dried plum dominate and are complimented by a bouquet of cinnamon and cedar. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, with red berry fruit and toasty oak on the palate.
