Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui is a true Zinny Zin. It opens with a brambly wild berry bouquet with hints of Spanish cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mulberry and sloe plum blend with notes of cinnamon and clove. We also picked up hints craisin and coffee beans mixed in. The finish is dry and its firm dusty tannins build-up and linger for quite some time. The Panel suggested pairing this Zin with a grilled veal chop or a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Pilgrim Zinfandel is a very rich and fleshy, full-bodied wine that could benefit by up to another two or three years of bottle-age. Big and chewy, with aromas of blueberries and violets, this is a rich, complex and deeply flavored wine. There is ample Zinfandel spice, both black pepper and baking spices. Its tannins are soft and there is an elegance about this wine that is not found in many Zinfandels.
