Wine Review: Upsteam Wines were a new discovery for me at this year’s Expo. These wines are just becoming available nationwide and are a steal for just under $20. Their Zin is not your classic fruit bomb wine. It is more like a rich blue fruited Syrah styled wine. It is ruby colored, medium bodied, very smooth and silky. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry with hints of black cherry and a touch of oak and licorice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are sticky and linger for quite some time. This Zin is a steal at $19. You can pair it with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
