Wine Review: This deep purple colored Shiraz from the Barossa Valley opens with a boysenberry and pencil lead bouquet with hints of red currant and iris. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a graphite and juicy red plum blend with notes of mushroom and red currant. We also detected hints of raspberry and nutmeg. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Shiraz with grilled pork tenderloin, duck breast or lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The palate is rich, powerful and penetrating. The wine slingshots a mouthful of flavour across your tongue and you are left with many succulent layers of spicy and dark fruit that flow. It is holding plenty in reserve and the tannins are fruitful but with a nervy persistence. This really has a strong core but comes across in waves and there is an evenness in this wine and it really is quite a ride. There is so much here to like and this will age brilliantly for the long haul. It's just so well balanced as a young wine from a great vintage. It will enjoy 12+ years in a good cellar, with ease. Defined, proud and succulent - MT
