Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Turnbull opens with a black currant and blackberry bouquet with hints of menthol, violets, and molasses and clove cookies. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, rather smooth and polished. The flavor profile is black currant and cedar blend with notes of black cherry, black tea, and mocha. We also detected hints of boysenberry and licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate well-managed tannins are sustained for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cabernet Sauvignon with a hanger steak or braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Crafted from our most effusive barrels, Black Label makes a return with generosity and intrigue. Blackberries, black cherries, olives, and toasted cocoa command the nose. Ripe black mission figs, wild blueberries, black currants and kirsch tones transform the palate. Generous rounded fruit tannins resound, whirling along the palate with hints of subtle yet impressive French oak through its endless finish, beckoning the next sip.
