Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet impressed the panel. It opens with an intriguing cedar, cherry, mint and menthol like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a very tasty ripe black cherry with hints of menthol, cinnamon, plum and gentle oak. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this very nice Cab with osso buco or shepherd's pie. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Clift Cabernet is multifaceted with aromas of black cherry and dark fruit. Subtle hints of leather and black olive add to the wine's complexity with commingling flavors of hay and barley. On the palate, the wine is rich and luscious with a velvety but strong finish. The wine’s richness is well-balanced with lean acidity and a long, clean finish. Though the wine is drinking very well now, the acidity and lush tannins will help with aging for another 5-10 years.
