Wine Review: This straw-colored Reserve level sparkling wine from Trump Winery in Virginia displays some fine small streaming bubbles. It opens with a pleasant Anjou pear and light lemon tea bouquet with hints green apple. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, delicate, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a green apple and chalky minerality blend with notes of light lemon tea, and almond. I also detected some hints of saline. The finish is dry and is very refreshing. This refined Sparkling would pair with broiled scallops. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Reserve is our signature sparkling wine which reflects the best techniques and aging methods of the vintage Méthode Champenoise process. The mousse of this sparkling is well integrated and bursts upon tasting. It is both vibrant and complex with fresh acidity, minerality, and aromas of citrus, green apple, and pear. Aging this vintage sparkling for over 5 years on its lees enriches this wine and creates a full-bodied sparkling with notes of toasted nuts, and freshly baked pastries.
