Wine Review: This almost pitch black colored Cab from Carneros opens with a very fragrant black currant bouquet with notes of blackberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and shows some good acidity. The flavor profile is a bold ripe black currant with notes of oak and a hint of anise. The finish is dry and tingly with oak based tannins that are noticeable for a while. The black currant flavors also continue to seep through to the finish as well. This wine would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A complex nose of ripe plum, cherry, and cassis; with a hint of cedar and vanilla. The mouth is filled with flavors of black cherry, berry jam, and red currant. Firm, but fine-grained tannins fill the palate and provide a lengthy finish of spice and red fruit.
