Wine Review: This pitch black colored blend opens with a blackberry jam bouquet with hints of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and very juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry and mild mineral blend with notes of faint oak and black raspberry. The finish is quite dry and its moderate tannins stick around for quite some time. I would pair this fruit bomb with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 13th vintage of this most winsome blend is more than just the “best of the rest of the cellar” of estate wine. We also sourced fruit from special vineyards in Rutherford and Calistoga to give you even more of an excuse to try it. And really Por que No?!! It’s everyone’s favorite party, mole, flatbread, Bar-B-Que, and Bistro wine thanks to the spirited joy it brings to the palate. The somewhat unconventional blend lends it an exotic charm: Just over half Zinfandel, about 1/3 Petite Sirah, a strong contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon and a dollop of Petit Verdot.
