Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Malbec from Trapiche is a very good and affordable mid-week offering. It opens with an appealing black cherry and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a black plum and black cherry blend with notes of oak and stone dust. I also detected hints blackberry, black pepper and just a touch of craisin in the aftertaste. The finish is dry, and its flavors and gentle tannins fade away quickly. I would pair this Malbec with a beef and black bean burrito. Considering the volume this wine is made at; it is very well-done and a great price that everyone can appreciate. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Purpled-colored, the nose offers up pain grille, mineral, plums, and black cherry notes with a touch of black pepper. The palate is soft, soupy, and round, with ripe, saturated berry flavors. Finishes spicy and full, with chewy tannins and ample. Ideal to serve with cheese, red meats, mushrooms, or stew.
