Wine Review: This pitch black colored Pinot Noir from the Edna Valley opens with a ripe blackberry and faint oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, super smooth and supple. The flavor profile is a very tasty blackberry jam, dark chocolate and oak blend with notes of blueberry and black licorice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins show very nice length for a Pinot. I would suggest decanting this Pinot for a little while and then pairing it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep red cherry color with a slight blue hue, welcomes the senses with primary aromas of black cherry, ripe red plum with notes of graphite and allspice. There are underlying layers of bramble, forest floor and cedar. On the palate, there are earthy layers of green tobacco, wet stone and cigar box featuring velvety tannins with a round finish. We look forward to pairing this wine with a wide variety of savory foods for years to come.
