Wine Review: This pitch black colored Pinot Noir from Tolosa is impressive. It opens with a blackberry bouquet with hints of black licorice and boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich, smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a concentrated black raspberry and blackberry blend with notes of boysenberry and mineralty. I also detected hints of black pepper, black plum and some old oak. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors show nice length. This is big boy Pinot. I would sip this by the fireplace this winter. With food, pair it with pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Enticing aromas of red cherry, nori (dried seaweed), soy sauce, and a hint of eucalyptus. Nuanced flavors of black currant, blueberry, and black plum along with notes of cedar and black licorice. Prominent tannins on the mid palate with a lingering finish of molasses and salinity.
