Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Malbec and Bonarda blend from Tikal opens with a boysenberry bouquet with hints black cherry and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, silky and fruity. The flavors profile is a gentle boysenberry with notes of mild minerality and black raspberry. I also detected hints of black olive and faint oak. The finish is dry and its fine tannins and gentle fruit linger for a little while. This elegant Argentinian red is very food friendly and would pair nicely with veal scaloppini with saffron cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep reddish purple with aromas of bright berry/cherry fruit. Like swallowing a whole bowl of mixed ripe berries at once. Big body yet very balanced with luscious layers of raspberry, cherry, and cocoa flavors. Just a hint of baking spice at the end brings it all together.
