Wine Review: This midnight purple colored blend from Three is Excellent! It opens with pleasant gentle boysenberry bouquet with a hint of acai berry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, round and lush. The flavor profile is a delicious boysenberry and mild mineral blend with notes of blackberry. I also detected hints of blueberry and espresso. The finish is dry with moderate tannins that build-up a little and linger nicely. This wine is an unbelievable value. It is drinking wonderfully right now and would pair perfectly with a rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Established 1885 2014 Red Wine has three important components. Juicy, crushed black fruit from 125+ year-old Zinfandel from the Bigelow Vineyard. There are also wild berry aromatics that speak eloquently from the gnarly 125+ year old spicy black cherry Carignane. Exotic Spinelli Vineyard Mataro provides aromas of crushed red fruits, raspberry liqueur, thyme, and underbrush. Dense, chewy, and massively concentrated on the attack, packed with raspberries, dark plum, and black cherries. A healthy splash of darkly muscled Petite Sirah paints this mouthwatering blend a deep purple.
