Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Three Sticks opens with an inviting gentle red cherry and nutmeg bouquet with hints of red plum, celery, and orange peel. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, rich, and fruity. The flavor profile is red plum and pomegranate blend with notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, and black tea. We also detected some hints of minerality and spice mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with grilled lamb lollipops or coq au vin. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Pinot Noir grown in this special soil lends texture and elements of spice and black tea. Calera, 943, and Swan were the clones chosen for William James – all three culminating in flavors of rich black cherry and red currants, with a dense core and velvety mid-length finish.
