Wine Review: This slightly cloudy straw-colored Chardonnay opens with a pineapple and mango bouquet with hints of vanilla oak, pastry dough and pear. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and bright with plus acidity that rounds off nicely with some aeration. The flavor profile a mineral influenced lemon and green apple blend with notes of pineapple, oak, & almonds. Our tasting group also picked up some hints of spice and toasted coconut mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. We would suggest pairing this very nice Chard with a seafood casserole. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Durell Vineyard Chardonnay is the ultimate showcase of terroir. It is primarily composed of Old Wente clone, planted in various blocks throughout Durell. Each block expresses unique characteristics—one, on golden sandy soil atop a hillcrest, offers deep concentration, while another, situated at the base of the hillside, struggles on rockier soil that provides a bright acid line and minerals. These components combine to a rich, luxurious wine, accented by lime and slate minerality. With additional notes of honey-lemon meringue, shortbread, and yellow apple, this is a mouthwatering vintage that is best described as a ray of sunshine in your glass.
