Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Theopolis opens with a cola and sauteed mushrooms bouquet with hints of black cherry, campfire, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and fresh. The flavor profile is black currant and oak blend with notes of tobacco and tart black plum. We also detected hints of graphite and cola. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins and flavors linger nicely. This young Petite Sirah will benefit from some aeration in the near term, so we would decant it. Then we would pair it with barbecue beef brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Black cherry, leather, cocoa, and crushed fennel seed greet you in the glass of this Petite Sirah. On the palate, blueberry jam, luscious pie spices, and toasted vanilla are accented by bright acidity and bursts of pepper. Velvety tannins give way to a long finish. A showstopper to the last sip, this wine will continue to shine for many years to come. An excellent pairing with smoked brisket, barbecue ribs, and wild boar. This Petite Sirah also pairs well with a charcuterie board or with dark chocolate.
