Wine Review: This opaque and medium purple colored Cabernet Franc from the “Sleeping Lady Vineyard” displays terrific elegance. It opens with a plum and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with some hints of flinty minerality. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, beautifully balanced, smooth and silky. The flavor profile is the flavor profile is graphite, plum and loganberry blend with notes of oak in the background. We also detected some hints of loam and English tea towards the end. The finish is dry and its refined tannins build-up a little. I would pair this Cab Franc with filet mignon in a mushroom wine sauce in the next few years. Enjoy – Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: Color: Brilliant, dark eggplant with touches of mauve and magenta on the rim.
On the nose: Beautiful explosion of cassis, coffee, cedar, dried cranberry, cinnamon, licorice, bay leaf, raspberry and oak moss.
On the palate: Entrance with fresh fruit evolving on a nice acidity on the midpalate, lingering on granular, ripe tannins, with touches of boysenberry, lilac and chocolate.
