Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Denali Vineyard is fantastic! It opens with a boysenberry, black currant and olive bouquet with a hint of Kiwi shoe polish. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well-balanced, rich, lush and savory. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant and oak blend with notes of nicely integrated graphite and black cherry. I also detected hints of black tea and blueberry mixed in towards the end. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins build-up and are drawn out for a very long time. I would decant Cab in the near term and serve it with a well-marbled ribeye steak. There is no Debate about this offering. It is a winner! Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Shiny, deep ruby with touches of iris, mauve and blush on the rim.
On the nose: Expressive nose of cantaloupe, tomato sauce, pencil shavings, elderberry and clay, lingering on bacon, licorice and paprika.
On the palate: Soft, velvety entrance evolving on a framed mid-palate with fresh blueberry, lavender and boysenberry, lingering on licorice and bay leaf.
