Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Alberino based wine from Rias Baixas opens with a grapefruit and white peach bouquet with hints of saline and candy corn. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a lime and white grapefruit blend with notes of saline and stone dust. I also picked up hints of white pepper and celery. The finish is dry and refreshing. I would pair this Spanish white wine with your favorite seafood dish. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With its surprising blend of varietals, Terras Gauda is a highly complex wine, in which the clean citrus aromas of mandarin and ripe orange peel, combined with peach and aniseed, intermingle with the delicate mineral and saline notes of orange blossom and bay leaves. This vintage shows an impressively powerful structure and character, filling the palate with its unctuousness and velvety mouthfeel. It is also fresh, vibrant, and very lively thanks to its excellent acidity, producing an enjoyably pleasant finish. The aromas on the palate and the long, intense finish reflect the dryness and excellent ripeness of the vintage. The wine is rich on the palate and deserves seafood, specially oysters and crab, perfect with creamy dishes, rice, and Asian cuisine with rich sauces.
