Wine Review: This dark ruby colored wine from Tuscany opens with a craisin and red currant bouquet with hints of fig. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, well-balanced, supple, and smooth. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced red currant with notes of craisin and stony minerality. I also detected hints of strawberry licorice, nutmeg, Grand Marnier, and dried herbs. The finish is dry, and its well-managed tannins show generous length. This Tuscan blend is a very food friendly wine. I would pair it with Italian braciole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This enticing red offers alluring aromas of fragrant purple flowers, dark-skinned berries and crushed mint. The elegantly structured palate doles out succulent blackberry, orange zest, licorice and saline notes set against taut, refined tannins. It’s nicely balanced by fresh acidity. Pair with Bolognese and other meat sauce pastas, grilled pork and beef, and roasts.
