Wine Review: This medium amber colored 20-Year-Old Tawny Port from Taylor Fladgate opens with a toasted hazelnut and orange bouquet with hints of burnt caramel. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is slightly viscous & round. The flavor profile is toasted pecan and rum raisin with notes of candied orange peel and nutmeg. We also detected hints of molasses. The finish is dry and quite extended. There is a bit of heat present. The Tasting Panel would pair this Tawny Port with Pam’s almond macaroon cookies or just sip it on a cold evening. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Intense amber tawny color. Opulent and voluptuous nose of complex spicy, jammy, and nutty aromas, hints of orange flower and a fine oakiness coming from the long period of aging in cask. The palate is full of very rich and concentrated flavor and has a long mellow finish. Our 20-Year-Old Tawny Port pairs well with figs, almonds, pecan pie, and with desserts made with coffee or caramel.
