Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Shiraz based blend from South Africa opens with a cedar and black currant bouquet with a hint of Slim Jim. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated acidity. The flavor profile is a cedar and Slim Jim blend with notes of black currant and loam. I also detected hints of red plum, red cherry, and cinnamon towards the end. The finish is dry, and its flavors and mild tannins linger nicely. This very good value wine would pair well with a carnitas taco or a tangy pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crafted with a French flair, Le Rouge expresses lavish dark berries and black currant with smooth and refined tannins. This blend exhibits a palate that is elegant and refreshing, with a marked balance appealing to crowds.
