Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Arroyo Grande is very good. It opens with a black raspberry bouquet with a hint of pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and little juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty black plum with nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of pomegranate, oak and red raspberry. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This is a very food friendly Pinot and would pair nicely with grilled salmon steaks. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2014 vintage of Estate Pinot Noir is bright crimson in appearance and expressive of the distinctive character of the Arroyo Grande Valley which produces well structured Pinot Noir. Mineral notes in the aroma are complemented by hints of cranberry chutney and a faint trace of cigar box. On the palate, this elegant and well balanced Pinot Noir displays notes of bright raspberry and a touch of black pepper. With refreshing acidity and great structure, this wine is ready to enjoy now but will age gracefully over the next decade. Pair the 2014 Estate Pinot Noir with grilled quail or smoked salmon crostini.
