Wine Review: Taittinger La Francaise is a household name among Champagne producers. Known for their semi-traditional style that falls somewhere in the middle of the offerings. The wine has a nice beautiful white gold look to it. The bubbles are consistent and fill the mouth on the first sip, but it does not overrun the palate. On the nose, there are notes of jasmine and honeysuckle followed by brioche French toast. On the palate, the wine leans a bit on the modern side focusing on toasted bread with hints of almonds, candied orange zest and baked Granny Smith apples. The finish has a nice length to it thanks to the acidity. This is one of those Champagnes that would pair not only well with a Tres Leches cake but also raw oysters. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: This wine has a subtle, pale gold color with fine, persistent bubbles. It is delicate, with aromas of peach, white flowers, vanilla pod, and brioche on the nose and flavors of fresh fruit and honey on the palate. Would pair very nicely with seafood and white meat-based dishes.
