Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Vermentino from California is Very Good! It opens with mild green apple and Bosc pear like bouquet with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, easy to drink and displays no hard edges. The flavor profile is a Bosc pear and gentle tangerine blend with perfectly integrated mild minerality. There are hints of lemon in the background to add a bit of juiciness. The finish is dry and its flavors melt away nicely. This wine is extremely food friendly and would pair perfectly with linguini with clams or Coquilles St. Jacques. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Vermentino shows an zesty, citrusy nose that also includes the fresh green herbs and pronounced minerality characteristic of Vermentino. In the mouth, an initial impression of richness quickly turns crisp, with great acids, just a hint of tropical fruit, and a long, bright, meyer lemon/key lime finish.
