Wine Review: This tasty ruby colored red blend opens with a black current and pickled beet like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, loaded with fruit and full of life. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant with notes of integrated oak and a touch of smoke, red licorice, and hint of black pepper as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build up and linger for quite a while. I even found this wine to be better on day two so I raised its score. It is food friendly and I would pair it with Sweet Baby Ray's pulled pork sliders. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 Patelin de Tablas marries the spice, mineral and structure of Syrah with the generous fruit of Grenache, the backbone of Mourvedre and the brightness of Counoise. Drink it now or over the next decade. Pair with pastas with meat sauces, roast pork loin, beef stews, or beef or pork stir fries.
