Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Cabernet from Napa opens with an inviting blueberry and cherry vanilla bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle black currant and blueberry with hints of cocoa, black cherry, oak, and a touch of macaroon cookie in the distant background. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. This wine would be perfect with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 Swanson Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent example of how concentrated, balanced Cabernet can be made successfully, even in a cool vintage. Generous aromas of cassis, black cherry, espresso bean and integrated French oak are present in the nose. On the palate, there is well-focused ripe fruit and mouth-filling tannin, yet the wine remains balanced, long, graceful and elegant on the finish. This Cabernet will continue to improve in the bottle with optimum drinkability from 2015 through 2022.
