Wine Review: This slightly cloudy dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Susana Balbo opens with black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of black plum and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, polished, and fresh for a Cab. The flavor profile is black plum and oolong tea blend with notes of mulberry and chalky minerality. We also detected hints of five spice and black cherry. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins and flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would suggest pairing this Cab with prime rib or beef stew. Enjoy – KWGTP
