Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Malbec based blend from Susanna Balbo opens with a black olive, espresso, and blackberry bouquet with hints of mahogany and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with very bright acidity. The mouthfeel is round, juicy, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is ripe blackberry liqueur and stony minerality blend with notes of stewed plum and oak. I also detected hints of black tea, green olive, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its fruit flavors and mild tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with grilled barbecue spareribs. Enjoy – Ken
