Wine Review: This ruby colored Cabernet Franc based wine opens with a pleasant ripe black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and bright. The flavor profile is an oolong tea and gentle black currant blend with notes of black cherry and cedar. I also detected hints of blueberry, cocoa, and crushed stone in the mix. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate dusty tannins show very nice length. This Cab Franc would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This classic expression of a cool climate Cabernet Franc has a rich garnet hue, with bright red fruit noted of black currant, raspberry, and a hint on anise. This bold red has notes of mocha and cocoa and a nice mid pallet giving way to fine, lingering tannins and a light smokiness with the slightest hint of vanilla. A delicious sipper this bold red pairs beautifully with a wide range of foods including duck, Thanksgiving turkey, and roasted lamb.
