Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from Stonestreet is very good. It opens with a light vanilla oak and gentle pineapple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, soft and smooth. The flavor profile is similar to the nose, with a gentle vanilla cream and pineapple blend. I also detected hints of Anjou pear, lemon and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This finesse Chard is extremely food friendly. I would pair it with oven roasted crab stuffed Alaska halibut or butternut squash ravioli with a creamy butter, sage and parmesan cheese sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: As a blend of our best Chardonnay vineyard sites, the Estate bottling is one of the most compelling illustrations of the mountain. Winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs blends this wine with shrewd precision, balancing aromatic intrigue, texture and the Mayacamas' signature structural elements into a pure reflection of the vintage. The 2016 Estate Chardonnay exhibits honeysuckle and orange Creamsicle with subtle salinity. The generous palate finishes long with notes of toffee.
