Wine Review: This bright yellow colored Chardonnay from Stonestreet is Excellent. It opens with an attractive pear like bouquet with a hint of apple and gentle oak. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, very nicely balanced and shows great finesse. The flavor profile is a delicious mild pineapple with hints of gentle oak, mild minerlity and green apple. The finish is dry and its flavors sail away very nicely. I really loved this Chardonnay. It didn't last very long. It would pair perfectly with lobster with drawn butter. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Broken Road is consistently one of our most savory, stony wines from the mountain and in the cooler 2011 vintage it displays those elements in spades. Lemon verbena and flint emerge first from the glass, opening to a rich entry that cascades through peach pit, shell and ocean spray—all culminating in a finish with astonishing grip and acidity. While this wine is powerful and delicious now, it will easily reward ten years of proper cellaring.
